Repeated copyright violations by User:Wagiis WagoneEdit

This user has repeatedly uploaded images that are incompatible with Commons, a majority of which are related to the article Malik Shakeel Awan at the English Wikipedia. Sanctions are recommended due to the persistent copyright violations. --Kinu (talk) 09:24, 20 July 2022 (UTC)

unprotection of Category:Sockpuppets of Rodhullandemu and block of the obvious sock noted thereEdit

Rodhullandemu deleted and create-protected this category themselves in 2019. They are now very obviously socking as an IP, having been globally banned by the WMF late last year, as well as being locally blocked here and on several other WMF sites already. Regardless of whether the protection was the right move at the time, it seems obvious that a globally banned user should not be able to permanently block the creation of a category for tracking their later abuses.

I'd also note that the protection does not prevent adding the obvious sock, user:94.174.111.230, to the category, which I have already done. They need to be blocked. Their claim of being the executor of Rod's estate, who has decided to be completely dedicated to all the exact same things Rod was "when he was alive" is laughable. His real identity is well known and documented here on Commons at user:Rodhullandemu/Attrib, he previously uploaded photos of himself, and he has posted quite a few times on social media in the time since the alleged death. Even if we were to believe this ridiculous claim, surely deliberately acting as a proxy for a globally banned user is still socking. Beeblebrox (talk) 17:42, 21 July 2022 (UTC)

I'm not sure why a CU would be needed here, in fact it is against global policy for a CU to publicly link an IP address to a specific account. Unless you meant for their expertise in dealing with sockpuppetry?

The match here is purely behaviorally based, this diff [1] from back in April is where they made their claim to be acting on his behalf. I don't see how anyone could read that and actually think they were being honest and it isn't just Phil Nash/Rodhullandemu making up a cover story, but it seems he somehow got away with this ploy back in April, and has been evading his block here and his global ban for several months on several WMF sites. There is a pending request at meta wiki for a global lock, but they are badly backlogged, it could be weeks before they even get to it, so a local block for block evasion seems warranted in the meantime. And just to add that he's been posting on his Facebook account (the one in his real name with the same photos of himself that he used to have here on Commons), specifically, this month. Jha09 continuing to upload copyrighted imagesEdit

Jha09 (talk · contribs) was warned on April 20th, 2022 about uploading copyrighted images. Today they've uploaded multiple images that are obviously professional promotional image. To their credit, they honestly included the webpage they downloaded the image, but the 4 that I checked do not have anything to support the given license. Rather than tagging everything, would an admin mind taking a quick look and deleting the images as needed and block the user to prevent further copyright issues? Thank you. Before being blocked, the user have uploaded a bunch of photos related to en:Ramon Magsaysay (Cubao) High School such as class pictures and a bunch of possible copyrighted photos. In addition, most of the images posted are related to the Kanto area of Japan and horse racing, and I think that these trends are very similar in both accounts.

Furthermore, in this image[3], the photographer (author) part is Rory trains. The names of the photographer and the poster do not match.

Furthermore, I presume that the images to be posted, the racetrack tickets, and the images with the reflection of the passengers are very similar for both accounts.
